Financial problems for Midland's third driver

Midland's third and reserve driver, Nicky Pastorelli is currently facing problems with his sponsor. Pastorelli was planned to test this week in Jerez but had to cancel his test as he wasn't sure if he could come up with the complete sponsor package and remain Midland's third driver.

One of the Dutchman's sponsors pulled out at the very last minute. "One of my private investors pulled out unfortunately," Pastorelli told F1Racing.net. "I am not sure if we can solve this situation… we just have to wait and see. I wouldn't be fair not to tell the team about my financial problems and test for them. That's why I called up Kolles right away to explain the current situation."

MF1 Racing team boss Colin Kolles didn't want to say a lot about the situation with Pastorelli. "We will have a meeting with Nicky soon but I can not say much about it at the moment," Kolles told F1Racing.net in Jerez.
