Kolles happy with team's progress

09 December 2005

Midland is testing at Jerez this week with various drivers. Not only is Christijan Albers behind the wheel but so is Midland's most likely second driver Tiago Monteiro and young talents Jeffrey van Hooydonk, Roman Rusinov and Markus Winkelhock in the car. Team boss Colin Kolles is still open to sign up two test drivers for 2006 and wants to evaluate a number of drivers before the team will make a decision.

On Thursday Pastorelli said he was unable to come up with a full sponsorpackage to pay for his deal as Midland's third driver. Kolles is now thinking about signing up two test drivers for the team. "That option is still open," Kolles told F1Racing.net. "The drivers that are testing for us this week certainly have a chance to be signed up."

Kolles is glad the former Jordan team is now called Midland. After the first two days of testing there is a good atmosphere within the team. "I feel good about this new team. We have had a few technical problems but that's normal," he said.
