Jerez Day 5: Gené fastest in wet test

11 December 2005 / Results / Photos

Ferrari test driver Marc Gené set the pace on the fifth and final day of testing this week at Jerez in southern Spain. Today Bridgestone ran a wet tyre test on an artificially soaked circuit with representatives from its four teams - Ferrari, Toyota, Williams and Midland.

Each team had one car at the track available for wet testing, though Monteiro and Albers shared the Midland car. Gené finished fastest after 64 laps - 0.2 ahead of Toyota test driver Ricardo Zonta.

Nico Rosberg was third fastest for Williams while the Midland drivers were at the bottom of the timing sheets. Albers and Monteiro both spun off, but did not damage their car. Marc Gené's Ferrari also stopped out on track.

Testing at Jerez starts again on Tuesday.
