Winkelhock hopes for another test
14 December 2005MF1 Racing is still wieghing up the possibility of having two test drivers. While Nicky Pastorelli struggles with his sponsors, the team could announce another tester. Markus Winkelhock is one of the candidates and tested for the team last week in Jerez.
"I had to get a little feeling for the car at first," he told F1Racing.net. "I didn't know the track or the car but I felt quite confident with it after a short while. You have to get used to the braking points and fast corners, that was the main difference with Formula Renault. I'm happy and I think the team is too."
"I was about a second slower then Christijan Albers," he continued. "So for my first test I think it was ok. I know team boss Colin Kolles well, that's the reason I got the chance with Midland. I'm really happy about it and want to thank him. I hope I get another chance."

Winkelhock is hoping to become the team's second test driver, but at the moment can't shed any more light on his F1 future. "I hope to become a test driver. I need some sponsor money, but it would be fantastic. The sponsoring part looks quite good, but nothing is signed yet. I don't know if I have another test with the team, but first I have to find some money. I got this test for free, the other drivers paid for it. It really was fantastic."
