Ferrari's aggressive comeback plan
15 December 2005Ferrari is working on an aggressive comeback plan after its disappointing 2005 season. The team will also need to perform strongly as major sponsor Vodafone will leave at the end of 2006 for rival McLaren.
"Last season we didn't meet our objectives," Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn told the Italian Autosprint magazine. "Over the winter we've carefully analysed all the parameters regarding the chassis, tyres and engine like never before. We've now understood what areas require the most effort to improve the situation."
Such is the situation at Ferrari, that Michael Schumacher has taken the unprecedented move to cut his winter holiday short and step back into the car on Thursday and Friday this week.
"In the past we've never had such an analytic approach to building the new car," Brawn added. "We learned in 2005 that we need to be more aggressive to improve the car's performance."
