Briatore denies role in Alonso move

Flavio Briatore insists he played no part in Fernando Alonso deciding to move to McLaren in 2007, despite being both the Spaniard and the Renault team's manager. 

"I was a no time directly or indirectly involved in the conduct of these negotiations," Briatore said. "Fernando made a personal decision that his future lies outside of Renault when his current contract expires at the end of 2006. He contacted and negotiated with McLaren at his own instigation."
