DC splits with girlfriend

F1 ace David Coulthard and long time Brazilian girlfriend Simone Abdelnur, 25, have split. British tabloid newspapers said on Wednesday that the pair, who started dating four years ago and may have become engaged early in 2004, parted because Scot DC's whirlwind life on the grand prix tour put strain on their relationship.

A spokesman for 34-year-old Coulthard told the Daily Record newspaper: "It was a mutual decision and there is no one else involved."
