Badoer: I was on the list to replace Rubens

Luca Badoer revealed he was on the list to replace Rubens Barrichello when the Brazilian told the team he would join Honda in 2006. Badoer was on the same list as Felipe Massa, but the team picked the Brazilian instead of their test driver.

"I was on the list of drivers to replace Barrichello," Badoer said during the team's meeting with the press in Italy. "They chose Felipe in the end."

Badoer would have loved to get the race seat, but accepted Ferrari's decision. "It would have been my dream to race, but it is the team's decision that I accept," said Badoer. "If I wouldn't have accepted this I would have left the team."
