Berger could start up F1 team

27 January 2006

Former BMW motorsport director Gerhard Berger has said he considers to enter Formula One with his own team as soon as the new low-cost Formula 1 regulations take effect in 2008.

"Of course there is nothing coming up immediately," Berger told Autosport. "In the current situation, only car manufacturers or companies like Red Bull can afford F1. But if the costs are brought down, it would be worth thinking about it. But this can only happen for 2008."

In his racing career Berger scored 10 F1 victories.
