The FIA has decided on the twelve teams that will compete in the F1 World Championship in 2008, but has yet to reveal the identities. It is expected that all the eleven existing teams will naturally get a place and so attention has turned to who will be the tweflth - David Richards' Prodrive team and Trevor Carlin's Carlin Motorsport teams were both early favourites.
The latest rumours in the Imola paddock suggest that Prodrive will get the nod. Its boss, David Richards runs the World Rally Championship and led the Subaru team in its most successful phase in the 1990s before joining F1 to head up Benetton and later BAR.
The FIA is expected to confirm the news on Friday next week.
