Column: Busy days…
21 June 2006Between the British Grand Prix, our team's home Grand Prix, and the Canadian Grand Prix there have been a lot of things on my schedule. I joined the team on Thursday last week at Silverstone to work on a tyre programme with Bridgestone and try a few new components on the car. The test went really well.

I actually already arrived at Silverstone on Wednesday to work in the factory. I had meetings with Colin Kolles, the people from the marketing department, the test team etc. I talk about all kinds of things, my clothing, the car etc. In the workshop I join the engineers to chat about how things are going with the car. After each Grand Prix they take it into a thousand pieces and build up the car again from scratch. It was nice to see everyone again in the factory and I hope I can keep everyone motivated with my performance on track.
On Saturday I had a meeting with a number of winners. We had dinner with 25 people and it was good fun! They are really die-hard fans and had lots of questions. On Sunday I took a day off. I have been hanging around on a boat to enjoy the weather and water.

On Monday I also had a great day as I joined the best kart drivers of the BP Ultimate Speed Acedemy. It was really difficult to keep those guys behind me, there is some big talent out there I noticed!
And now I'm looking forward again to the Canadian Grand Prix. It is one of my favourite tracks, but I'm afraid it might be a bit of a difficult race for us. The track requires a lot of highspeed and we are not as good on such like the bigger teams. Apart from that the atmosphere is great in Montreal so I can't wait to fly to Canada!
