Villeneuve launches debut single this weekend

21 June 2006

Jacques Villeneuve will release his debut single this weekend at his home Grand Prix in Canada. The 1997 F1 champion, who now races for BMW, has written and recorded an accoustic-rock album and the first single to be released is called 'Accepterais-tu?' (Would you accept?).

The song will be available for download on the Internet and only 5,000 copies will be on sale in the week after the race.

"I've always loved music," Villeneuve said. "My grandfather was a piano teacher, my father played piano and trumpet and my sister is also a musician. As soon as last season finished while I was waiting for confirmation of my drive this year I had nothing else to do so I decided to go into the studio, get some people together and see what it would sound like fully produced."

Villeneuve plays the guitar and piano. The album also features a duet with his sister
