Villeneuve targets fourth place for BMW
21 June 2006BMW drivers Jacques Villeneuve and Nick Heidfeld scored 17 points thus far, 12 points less than their competitor Honda who are in fourth position in the constructors championship. Villeneuve wants to become fourth with BMW and believes it is only a matter of time.
"We are currently fifth and I think that's higher than the team wanted at the start of the season, so that's already good," Villeneuve said. "But we can reach for fourth place. That would be great and it's achievable I think."
But moving up a step and challenge team teams that are currently winning races won't be easy said Villeneuve. "It will be very difficult to get close to the team leading the Championship. They are a step ahead of everyone else."
"We still have a lot of work to do catch them. It depends on how many improvements we make during the season. By the end of the year, we may be closer than expected."
