Schumi surprised by advantage
01 July 2006 / Results / PhotosMichael Schumacher admitted being surprised by the advantage he enjoyed over his rivals in qualifying for the US Grand Prix. The German claimed his 67th pole position at Indianapolis and was 0.6s faster than team mate Massa in second.
"We have been strong, consistent and a good pace in general," Schumacher said. "I'm surprised by the size of our advantage - I'd rather give up some of it here and use it somewhere else!"
"It does show that the package is strong when everything comes together and here it all matches perfectly," he added. "We are quick and have a good chance to win tomorrow. My first lap was very good and the second one I didn't have anything more to do so I didn't push as hard, but it was still enough."
