Schumacher didn't expect French win

On Sunday Michael Schumacher won his 88th Formula One Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver didn't expect to beat his competitors under the warm conditions at Magny-Cours. "To be honest, I didn't expect this," Schumacher said.

On Saturday morning Schumacher's car caught fire in free practice, while his team mate Felipe Massa had a gearbox problem on his car. Things didn't look too good for the Ferrari drivers. "We feared for our Grand Prix weekend because you can't be certain how bad these problems were and apart from that the conditions were very hard," Schumacher said. "However in the end everything ran perfectly. A big compliment to all our mechanics and engineers who came up with this great set-up without too much data."
