Toyota upbeat on Monza tyres

After the conclusion of testing in Monza, Toyota reported that the results of its tyre tests were very positive and that their prognosis for next week's Italian Grand Prix is good. 

"This week we had planned to carry out an important tyre test and try out some new aerodynamic parts in preparation for next week's Italian Grand Prix here at Monza," said test team manager Gerd Pfeiffer. "We've managed to finish most of the programme, even though we had to deal with loosing time from red flags, set-up work and then losing a half day of driving this afternoon."

"The tyres we have been testing for the race here look quite promising, so overall we are pleased with the data," he added. "We have shown that we can be fast in the race and we are hoping for some more points in this next round."
