Silverstone: Place your bets on Button!

05 September 2006

As tickets now go on sale for the 2007 Formula One British Grand Prix - to take place on 6-8 July - Silverstone bosses have revealed that anyone purchasing an adult grandstand ticket before the end of September will get the £50 they pay back if Jenson Button wins.

Hoping to capitalise on the euphoria of Button's first win at Hungary, the Northamptonshire-based circuit is offering better value tickets and reduced prices for children as organisers attempt to appeal to the next generation of Formula One fans.

"It would be great if a British driver won," said Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited.

"Jenson and David Coulthard always enjoy huge support at the British Grand Prix, but our offer to give fans £50 back if Jenson wins his home race will take that support to an entirely new level.

"We are keen to make Formula One more accessible and embrace younger fans; as a result, we will be offering children aged twelve and under, accompanied by an adult ticket holder, access to the Friday and Saturday of the British Grand Prix from as little as £10 and £20 respectively. This is a hugely exciting development and one that will hopefully engage a new generation of Formula One fans."
