Having just signed a two-year extension, Flavio Briatore has revealed that he will reduce his involvement with the Renault team after the end of next year.
The flamboyant 56-year-old believes it will be time to leave the high profile role of leading the team to someone else.
"In 2008, I will delegate my appointment to someone else and I will stay away from the spotlight," Briatore told Gazzetta dello Sport.
Speculation suggested Briatore might leave the French outfit, but he also said that he had decided to stay on for another two years to ensure that the team was not further hindered following the loss of Fernando Alonso.
"I was pushed to carry on for two reasons," he added.
"First, the fact that Renault's new president Carlos Ghosn is fully behind the F1 project. Second, the team will lose Fernando Alonso, so I preferred to give continuity to the work."
