Comfortable Schumacher happy with second
09 September 2006 / Results / PhotosA determined-looking Michael Schumacher seemed happy to be on the front row of the grid for the Italian Grand Prix, despite being nudged out of pole by the man who could be replacing him at Ferrari next season, Kimi Raikkonen.
"The car is going very well and we've been quite strong and consistent at the test here, so we're in a comfortable position to be in," Schumacher said. "Obviously 0.002s is a tight margin and it would have been nice to be on pole for our home race, but the main thing is for us to achieve the win tomorrow."
When asked how he felt to see Fernando Alonso fifth on the grid Schumacher replied, "It's a more ideal situation than to have Fernando next to, ahead or just behind me and it's good to have Nick up here as we have a lot of promising things going for us."
