Klien rejects Champ Car switch

Christian Klien stated on Friday evening that he will not be moving to the Champ Car series next year.

Once the Austrian driver found out he would be replaced by Mark Webber for the 2007 F1 season, it was widely reported that Red Bull was trying to get him a drive in the American series and a deal to race for the PKV Racing team was said to be imminent.

However, the 23-year-old said on Austrian TV channel ORF that he is holding out for an offer in Formula One.

"I can't do it as I still have other options. Other teams in Formula One are still interested and I need more time for further discussions," he revealed. 

"When you're in Formula One you want to stay there. I've still got four races in front of me, it's never too late."
