The organisers of the San Marino Grand Prix, held at Imola, are not sure if the works at the track will be completed in March. The FIA removed the race from the calendar. The race will only return if the improvements of the track are ready in March 2007.
President of the organisation, Mister Bendinelli, told Autosprint: "I am not sure if the works will be finished in time to be approved in March."
Work will not start until October at Imola.
"The works are not controlled by us but by the city of Imola. They are handling the project and agreed the deal with the companies that take care of the work."
"I made Bernie Ecclestone a proposal to organise the race in September butthat wasn't possible. The only possible date will be in April."
