Red Bull could bring Ammermüller to China

Red Bull could bring Ammermüller to China

13 September 2006

Robert Doornbos will be racing the final three races for Red Bull Racing after the team came to a mutual agreement with Christian Klien to end his contract. It means Doornbos' seat in Friday's free practice sessions is available. Biggest candidate will be Michael Ammermüller.

Ammermüller will be testing today, Wednesday, in Jerez de la Frontera for Red Bull Racing. He will try and cover 300 kilometres to obtain his FIA superlicence that will be needed in order to join the team as Friday test driver.

Ammermüller couldn't confirm yet that he will be Red Bull's latest driver on their F1 team but he did reveal the team is having everything prepared. "The team asked me to bring a photo. They really think of everything. Should I get the job they will need it for my entry visa into China. But again; I am here in Jerez to get used to the car, which was always the plan anyway towards the end of the season."
