In Monza it was announced that Spyker has bought the Midland F1 team. The team has a big potential next season with the extra budget that will be available and they signed up Mike Gascoyne to build the 2007 cars. The engine deal isn't announced at the moment but Ferrari could be an option for the team.
Speaking about his plans for the upcoming year Spyker MF1 Racing team boss Colin Kolles admits there are a few options for an engine deal. "There are still two or three options."
Ferrari is one of these options. Kolles explains: "There is a Ferrari connection because people who are shareholders in Ferrari are also shareholders in Spyker. We are always in contact with Ferrari."
