Michelin confident about last three races

Michelin confident about last three races

18 September 2006

Michelin is working this week with Renault at the Silverstone test as the French tyre manufacturer prepares itself for the final three races of the season. Jenson Button's triumph at the Hungarian Grand Prix was Michelin's last victory.

However, Michelin is confident heading into the final stage of the season. Michelin's director Nick Shorrock said: "Yes we are confident. We are testing with Renault at Silverstone this week, and maintaining our aggressive approach."

"There is some pressure, which is normal when you are working with a team fighting for the championship. Now, the title race will come down to three Grands Prix. We are trying to give Renault a decisive advantage, but that's not all. We need to make sure BMW finish ahead of Toyota in the Constructors' Championship, and that Raikkonen and Fisichella beat Massa in the Drivers' standings."

It will be Michelin's last few races in Formula One before pulling out of the sport at the end of the season.
