BMW kick-off testing in Jerez

BMW kick-off testing in Jerez

19 September 2006 / Results

The BMW team began to work at Jerez de la Frontera with Sebastian Vettel and Robert Kubica. Kubica was the fastest driver of the duo. The Polish driver completed 86 laps.

Testing began today, Tuesday, with only BMW on track. HondaF1 will join the team on Wednesday at the Spanish track.

In the morning the BMW team had to wait for an hour for the fog to clear. After that the day was dry and sunny. Vettel worked on electronics for next season. For the young German it was a day of shaking down the car and thus he didn't cover as many miles as Kubica.

Kubica worked on development issues for the final three races of the season and concentrated on suspension, dampers, set-up and new aero parts.

On Wednesday Nick Heidfeld will take over from Sebastian Vettel. Heidfeld will join Kubica also on Thursday.
