
The organisers of the Turkish Grand Prix were fined today by the FIA. They received a fine as high as five million US Dollar.
The organisation was found in breach of the international sporting codes and the F1 rules with their controversial podium ceremony after the Turkish Grand Prix last month.
The FIA launched an investigation after Turkish Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat presented race winner Felipe Massa with his trophy and was described as president of the Turkish Cypriot 'state' - which is only officially recognised by Turkey and not the international community.
