Singapore keen on F1
20 September 2006Singapore's desire to host an F1 Grand Prix is growing with the country's increased interest in motorsport after it unveiled its inaugural team for the new A1 Grand Prix series.

At the team's A1 launch Singapore's sports minister said that it was a step forward for motor sport in the country. The sports minister added that the A1 team will put Singapore on the motor sport map and build momentum for a possible race on the island.
The sports minister confirmed the government was seriously looking at the possibility of hosting an F1 race, but that formal negotiations were yet to begin.
