Albers hopes for strong race in China

Albers hopes for strong race in China

25 September 2006

This weekend it will be the first time for Christijan Albers to race his orange Spyker MF1 car. In China the Dutchman hopes to show a strong performance again.

Albers said: "I am really looking forward to the race in Shanghai. It is an enormous city! On Sunday I flew to China to already because I have PR activities on Tuesday with our sponsor Mingya. On Wednesday I will start my preparations at the track with the team. Last week we've been collecting a lot of data during our test at Silverstone so I hope we chose the right tyre compound. If the progression we made at Silverstone will work in China we can look ahead of a good weekend."

"The track in Shanghai is very challenging for drivers, but also hard on the tyres. Especially on the front tyres. In China I will be racing with the same engine I used in Monza so we won't be covering a lot of laps in free practice to save the engine. Apart from that we have a few updates on the car. We will keep on fighting until the final races. I really hope we can still score a point as that will be very important for the team."
