Albers to race for Spyker in 2007

29 September 2006

Christijan Albers has unveiled exclusively on his official website - albersf1.com - that he has signed a deal with Spyker for next season.

"I am extremely proud and happy to receive a new contract with Spyker. It's a Dutch team, with great people behind it. We can continue building what we started this year. The start of this season was hard, but things have been going better and better all the time. Now it's time for the next step! It couldn't be at a better time than with a real Dutch team obviously."

The Dutch 27-year-old also revealed his belief in Spyker to push the team up the grid and that an engine announcement is soon to follow.

"I have a lot of confidence in our future. With the backing of car manufacturer Spyker, our people in the Silverstone factory, and our loyal sponsors it will become a great season next year. The team will also announce their 2007 engine supplier very shortly, I can't wait for next season really!"
