Raikkonen confident of Suzuka comeback

Raikkonen confident of Suzuka comeback

03 October 2006

With McLaren facing its first winless season for a decade, Kimi Raikkonen is confident he can bounce back from his Chinese Grand Prix retirement. The Finn showed potentially race-winning form until after his first pit stop his McLaren ground to a halt.

"We demonstrated the competitiveness of the car over the weekend of the Chinese Grand Prix and it was clear that the speed was there, despite my retirement from second place which was disappointing for everyone," Raikkonen said.

"This level should carry through to the Grand Prix in Japan at Suzuka, which is really great to drive, and there is no reason why we should not be competing at the front again," he added.
