Albers 'felt vibrations'
08 October 2006 / Results / PhotosChristijan Albers felt strange vibrations in the cockpit of his Spyker MF1 car until eventually his driveshaft failed in dramatic fashion on lap 21. The rear right wheel sheered off and took with it his rear wing as he braked for the final chicane.
"I had some problems, a lot of vibration in the car and I just wanted to keep pushing because we were quite competitive," Albers said. "When I started braking for the chicane the right rear wheel went past me with the rear wing!"
"It's a real shame for the guys, we were fighting the red bulls and without that we could have beat them today," he added.
