Toyota team boss John Howett believes the team should have worked harder in Japan to finish fourth and fifth instead of sixth and seventh. Toyota is currently sixth in the constructor championship.
Looking back at the race John Howett told Speed TV: "There was too much graining, and we lost 10 seconds in five laps. Ralf Schumacher was quicker but couldn't get past. There are some positive things, but in the end we should have been in front of Honda and really we just lost fourth and fifth place purely because of those five or six laps, and we should have fought harder for the podium. The Bridgestone did grain a little bit more than the Michelin, but overall it stood up fairly well."
