At the Japanese Grand Prix we saw Spyker MF1 driver Christijan Albers suddenly spin halfway into the race. The Dutchman's suspension broke and finished his race prematurely.

It was unclear what caused this incident right after the race. The car has been analysed and it is now clear what caused Albers' problem. Team boss Colin Kolles explained to F1Racing.net: "We saw on our computers that the car was overheating and that Christijan's car had a lack of power. When we called him in to check the car, his suspension broke because of the overheating in the car. The overheating was caused by a broken exhaust"
At Suzuka Albers showed a strong performance. He managed to qualify himself in front of Spyker's closest rivals Red Bull Racing but had to give up in sixteenth position. "Christijan drove a great race," said Kolles. "It is unfortunate that we had this bad luck. We never had this problem with the car in testing."
