Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner has promised that next years RB3 car will be a major step forward from the current RB2 after its performance came in for criticism from lead driver David Coulthard at Suzuka.
Coulthard let off steam after a disappointing qualifying session and questioned whether the team had enough good people in the right positions to take advantage of Adrian Newey's joining. His boss, Horner, fought back.
"I think you've obviously caight David just after he jumped out of the car at the end of a disappointing qualifying session for us all," Horner told ITV. "David's aware that the people we have in the team make up a very strong group. Under Adrian Newey we have one of the strongest groups in F1."
"We made a strategic decision earlier in the summer to turn off development on the current car to focus resources on the development of next year's car which will be a signigicant step forward for us," he added.
