Spyker wraps up Silverstone test

12 October 2006

Continuing its testing programme today the Spyker MF1 Team ran test driver Markus Winkelhock and race driver Christijan Albers. Both morning and afternoon sessions were uninterrupted by the weather as the team completed their two day test. The Spyker MF1 Team will now travel to Brazil in preparation for the last race of the 2006 Formula One World Championship.

A testing ban now restricts the team from any more development work until 20th November, during this time the team will be concentrating upon their transition to Ferrari engines for 2007.

"Today went quite well although during the first couple of hours the track was a little damp which changed the test programme," said Winkelhock. "It was good experience as I haven't driven an F1 car in slippery conditions before. There were no problems and we covered a lot of laps, overall I am very satisfied. I was very happy to have an additional testing session before the last race of the season and I am very thankful to Colin Kolles for this opportunity."

Team boss Colin Kolles commented, "This was an important test that we had to complete satisfactorily before we leave for Brazil. It was good to have Markus back in the car as he has performed well when filling the Friday testing role at the Bahrain, Australian, German and Hungarian Grands Prix this season."
