After a difficult first day at Jerez this week, Williams has enjoyed two further reliable sessions as it works on integrating the Toyota V8 engine it will use next season with an interim chassis and new gearbox.

"Alex Wurz continued working on the engine with Toyota, and then carried out suspension modifications and compound tests in the afternoon," WilliamsF1 test team manager Mike Condliffe confirmed. "We have made good progress with the new engine and gearbox combination and will continue here tomorrow."

Wurz covered 80 laps and finished eighth fastest. Meanwhile fellow Williams tester Narain Karthikeyan was driving the interim FW28B car testing front wing assemblies before moving onto a tyre test.
