The 2006 FIA Formula One World Championship wraps up this weekend at the Interlagos circuit, Sao Paulo (Brazil). Bridgestone-shod Ferrari and Michael Schumacher have taken the title fights right down to the wire. The Brazilian Grand Prix will also be the final battle between Bridgestone and Michelin before the Japanese company becomes the sole F1 tyre supplier next season.
"Not only is this the last race of the season, and an important one for the various championships, but it is also the last race for the foreseeable future competing against another tyre manufacturer in F1," said Hiroshi Yasukawa, director of motorsport at Bridgestone. "We are therefore extremely motivated to see our teams get good results this weekend. For Michael Schumacher in particular this will be a very poignant weekend."
