Fisichella: Piquet will have to wait

Earlier this week Nelson Piquet junior said he was eying Fisichella's seat for next season, but Fisichella believes Piquet could have a long wait if he is hoping to replace him at Renault.

"If he is waiting for me to retire then I think he will only become a Formula 1 driver in six or seven years," said Fisichella at Interlagos. "I love F1 and I want to race for a long time. I want to renew my contract here at Renault and I would like to work with the team for a few more years."

Piquet, son of triple champion and namesake, told Reuters in an interview this week that he hoped to replace Fisichella at Renault after next year.
