Button is highly motivated to start working on next years car. "Over the last six races, I've scored more points than anyone, but that's only six races. The problem is there are 18 races," he told the Daily Express. "Going into the winter having finished third is great for our team. The season just gone was very up and down for us."
"We finally sorted out the car for Hungary and from then we've had very good results. It bodes well for next season, but we need to be competitive for the whole season. I think we are strong enough to challenge for a championship, we just need to build a car that's strong enough as well."
Button also believes his teammate Rubens Barrichello has been good for the team. "Having Rubens has been great for all of us because he comes from a team that have won the championship many times. He's also gained a lot of experience from working alongside Michael (Schumacher). He understands where we're weak and where we're strong. We're both racing for the team next season so hopefully we can move forward the amount that we need."
