Senna wants to enter F1 in 2009

Bruno Senna, Ayrton Senna's nephew, hopes to spend a couple more seasons racing in lower formulae before making the jump into Formula One. The 23-year-old Brazilian will most likely join the GP2 series next season in order to prepare himself for Formula 1.

In an interview with German magazine Bild Senna said: "I hope I will be racing in Formula One in one or two years. It depends how it will go next year. I have a few contacts already in Formula One." One of his contacts is Gerhard Berger, who is a good friend of the Senna family.

Bruno believes if his uncle Ayrton hadn't died in 1994, Michael Schumacher wouldn't have won as many world championships as he did. "If my uncle didn't crash I think Michael would have one or two titles less behind his name. Michael has not been always racing at the limit. It would have been different if Ayrton was there to challenge him I think. Ayrton was always racing at the limit but Schumacher won races by a good team strategy."
