Imola will still push ahead with improvements to the circuit and its facilities despite being dropped from the 2007 F1 calendar. The first major work to take place involves the demolition of the pits complex and work should begin in the next ten days.
The Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper reported Imola's mayor saying he hopes the successful completion of the work can get the circuit back on the F1 calendar in 2008.
