Klien says test drive is not step down

16 November 2006

Christian Klien says his decision to join Honda as test and reserve driver is not a step down in his career. Klien has 46 Grand Prix under his belt for Jaguar Racing and Red Bull, but was dropped by the latter at the end of this season.

"On first glance a test driver role may look like a step back, but it isn't," Klien told Austrian web site Sport1. "Honda is a top team and I can learn a lot there."

"If I do some really good work I'll certainly have the chance to race again," he added. "I'm fully focused on my new role as a test driver."
