De la Rosa: New car development goes well

17 November 2006

According to Pedro de la Rosa the new McLaren is positive change compared to McLaren's 2006 car, the MP4/21. The 35-year-old Spaniard still has a chance to become Alonso's team-mate next season in 2007.

"We don't know a lot about the new car yet, but what we do know is that it will look like the 2006 car," De la Rosa told EFE. "The part around the cockpit will be really different. The engineers at McLaren are really satisfied about the work they did in the windtunnel so far, but as I driver I can only judge the car on his performance on track. It looks looks very positive though. The data we receive on the new car looks very promising and an improvement compared to this year's MP4/21."
