Speed targets points in 2007

17 November 2006

Scuderia Toro Rosso driver Scott Speed expects to continue his Formula One career with the Italian squad for another season. The American gained valuable experience in 2006 and will try to score points on a regular basis for the team in 2007.

Speaking about his expectations for next year and his result in 2006 Speed told The Indy Star: "It's always difficult (to predict) because Formula One is always changing. But the best thing for us was to gain as much experience for next year when we'll have a real opportunity to score some points on a regular basis. We made some big steps forward."

The Brazilian Grand Prix was one of Speed's best races he believes. He looks back at the final round of the championship with a big smile saying: "That was a great way to end the year. I think that was a big statement. We had an incredible season, a really great year. (Except for) losing the point in Australia, I think it was a perfect first year for us."
