Juan Pablo Montoya took a big step forward in his move from F1 to NASCAR when he qualified for the Ford 400 Nextel Cup race at Miami Homestead Speedway on Friday. He ended qualifying 29th in the 43-car field averaging 175mph around the oval track.
"You don't want to come out of here looking like an idiot because you didn't make the grade," Montoya said. "It put a lot of stress on the team because we have to get it right."
