German teenager Christian Vietoris has secured a test drive with BMW Sauber F1 team. The 17-year-old beat 35 other drivers to secure the test drive by winning the world final of the Formula BMW junior series at Valencia, Spain.
"He's now joined the likes of Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg who started their successful careers in single-seaters in Formula BMW," BMW motorsport director Mario Theissen said. "I'm convinced that he too has the talent to take the next step."
Last year's world final winner Marco Holzer had his F1 test at Valencia on Thursday.
