| Hakkinen returns |
The day started under dry circumstances but when a bit of rain came down the teams decided to stay in until the track was dry enough to continue testing. There were a number of red flags, most of them around lunch time. Robert Kubica had to stop his car on track once, while Renault's test driver Nelson Piquet jr. blew up his Renault engine in the afternoon.
Around noon Mika Hakkinen arrived at McLaren and watched the test session from the pitbox. The Finn will make his F1 return on Thursday when he will test the McLaren.
