On the second day of testing at Circuit de Catalunya Felipe Massa was the fastest driver on track again. The Brazilian completed 83 laps and was over a second faster than the other 17 drivers. But most interesting was the return of Mika Hakkinen in the paddock.

Nine of the Formula 1 teams were on track on Wednesday in Barcelona. Although Toyota was already on track, the team didn't begin testing until today. Kamui Kobayashi made his Formula 1 debut with the team.

The day started under dry circumstances but when a bit of rain came down the teams decided to stay in until the track was dry enough to continue testing. There were a number of red flags, most of them around lunch time. Robert Kubica had to stop his car on track once, while Renault's test driver Nelson Piquet jr. blew up his Renault engine in the afternoon.

Around noon Mika Hakkinen arrived at McLaren and watched the test session from the pitbox. The Finn will make his F1 return on Thursday when he will test the McLaren.
