Nick Heidfeld says he's ready for the fight of his career in 2007 as he admits he's never been in a more competitive team or situation. BMW is the fifth team the German has driven for in F1.
"It's the most promising initial position I've been in so far," Heidfeld said. "I've never raced for such a competitive team. I'll have a podium finish, 23 points and ninth in the drivers' championship to defend, but I'm really optimistic regarding the future."
"Our opponents are really competitive," he added. "We assume that we'll keep on improving but it will get harder and harder. We are well aware it won't be possible to win the championship in one year. I'd be happy if we suceed in moving up from fifth to fourth in the constructors' championship."
