Jerez Day 1: Ferrari fastest

Ferrari continued to set the fastest lap times in testing as Formula 1 travelled to Jerez de la Frontera in the South of Spain. Felipe Massa and Luca Badoer set the fastest laps. Hamilton showed he is on the pace already in the McLaren, he set the third fastest lap.

The Formula 1 teams continued their preparations for the 2007 Formula 1 season today in Jerez. After a week of testing in Barcelona most of the teams will work in Jerez from Wednseday to Friday and next week again from Wednesday to Friday.

The first day of testing started under damp conditions from overnight rain showers. As the track dried more and more drivers were covering the miles. Honda's new test driver Christian Klien completed 89 laps in Spain, setting the fourth fastest lap time.
