Friday was the final day of testing this week for the Formula 1 teams in Jerez. Testing began in the morning at a wet track. Kazuki Nakajima completed his first laps in an official F1 test session. The new Williams F1 test driver, who covered his first laps two weeks ago at Fuji at Toyota's Motorsport Festival, completed 16 laps. In the afternoon he blew up an engine though.

Luca Badoer also caused a red flag in the afternoon when the Italian Ferrari test driver spun of the track. Renault's Heikki Kovalainen suffered from a mechanical failure in the afternoon.

Even though the weather wasn't perfect there were many fans in the grandstands watching the action. Thanks to a bank holiday many fans were able to enjoy the action.
